You probably take your cell phone everywhere with you and keep it on your nightstand when you are sleeping, and you may also keep lots of your own personal information in the memory such as your friends and co workers contact details, and any notes, reminders and appointments. Therefore it is important that you guarantee the privacy of your cell phone, to avoid any unwanted calls or phone hijacking.
Restrict Your Number
Only give your phone number to people who really need it, and never publish it online. You can also set up private caller ID so that the person who you are calling cannot see your number by going into the call settings and selecting ‘private’ option, or on most phones you can simply dialling 1831 before you input the number you are calling (this works when you are ringing either another cell phone or a landline number).
Allow Lists
Your phone will have an option to block calls from people you do not know, and you can do this by going into your ‘allow lists’ and inputting only your friends and family’s numbers. If you don’t want to restrict your phone quite so much you could use the ‘block’ function instead, which will only block those particular numbers you do not want to call you.
